Located on upstream side of Purple Creek bridge on Westbrook Road. Access by parking on roadside and walking down either bank to creek. Westbrook Road and Purple Creek bridge at this location is east of the soccer field complex, after Westbrook enters a line of woods on either side of the road. Bridge is 0.13 miles west of the end of Westbrook Road. Westbrook ends at the gate entering the Westbrook family property.

low flow
Flooded, virtually no current and stagnant with backwater from flooded downstream Pearl River. Creek at top of banks. Flood from heavy torrential record breaking rain the week before in Creek and Pearl River watershed.
Creek flooded, water beginning to flow over top of upper bank, water level about 10' above typical level. Torrential record breaking rain with 7+" in previous 48 hours. Pearl River at flood stage and backing into Purple Creek at test site. Water appearing to be mostly backwater from Pearl River. Very little to no current.
Creek slightly up about 0.5 - 1 foot from typical summer flow. Muddy. No odor though E. coli very very high setting a record for this site to date. Probable Jackson sewer overflow?
Water very turbid and muddy, up about 1 foot from usual summer flow following scattered thunderstorms yesterday and earlier.

River stage from USFS Hwy 25 gauge downstream. No air or temp data because I fell into creek afterward and unknowingly until after leaving the site, my field book with these data got we, loosing data.
No E. coli at this location at this date. E. coli abundance has been very low so far during this summer 2022 sampling period, much lower than summer of 2021.
