Overcast with a small bit of rain in past 24 hrs 15 to 20 swans on the water and a loon fishing here. Clouds of small lake bugs around.
Taken from boat in midstream
Overcast hazy sky today with little wind and no rain for many weeks. Lots of green algae, weeds and water Lilly’s. Dragonflies, horseflies and songbirds around. Also saw a very unusual spotted turtle that I’ve never seen before sitting on a stick in the river.
Sunny day with no rainfall in past 24 hrs. Water bugs and song birds around with a lot of white swans further on in the river beyond the bridge.
Samples taken 2’ off shore. Unable to do Secchi or water depth, but observations are that water is clear except where vegetation is present
Overcast and very gusty winds today with about 3-4 MM rainfall over the past 24 hrs. Strong current flowing today. Depth measurement taken from shore instead of middle of bridge as current making it too difficult. I would view it as being about average given the waterline along the shore being normally what is here.
Partly cloudy and bit windy now. Less than 1 mm rain in past 24 hours. Some Canada Geese and ducks on the river. Depth from shore where testing done was . 4 M and bottom visible. Took other measurement from the bridge to mid point of river and depth was 2.5 M with bottom visible.
There were a lot of water fowl close to the mouth of the river.
After an extremely dry summer the recent rains brought up the level of the river and the water looked cleaner.
There was a sour smell at the river bank and the river looks stagnant. There has been very little rain this spring.
