Stave Island Wetland

St. Lawrence River

Ontario, Canada

Bay enclosed by islands, very thick vegetation in the water and healthy natural shorelines. It is a wetland site and the water here is quite deep with soft sediment.

During recovery efforts for the osprey fishing eagles, Stave island was the first area that they began to take over again as their population reached healthy numbers.
