Notes

An osprey nest was built on a platform near the water and a chick was calling for its mother the whole time I was there. I also had the opportunity to witness the mother search for, dive at and catch what appeared to be a catfish, and shake her wings off mid-flight before delivering her catch to the nest.
Other birds included American robins and red-winged blackbirds.

Water striders, leeches, and dragonfly larvae were found here.
Fish species included yellow perch, longnose gar, largemouth bass, and golden shiners.
There was very dense vegetation in the water, with species found such as Eurasian milfoil, bladderwort, elodea, coontail, tape grass, water nymph, algae, yellow pondlilies, and fragrant white pondlilies.
