British Columbia, Canada

The GT wetland is a short walk from Katelnikoff Rd in the slocan valley. The water is still and shallow. There are no apparent dangers. This site is a restoration project implemented by the slocan river streamkeepers. Their goal is to restore the wetland habitat through restoration of native species in order to enrich the diversity of wildlife in the area. Work done by humans within the last year includes, excavation of weltland areas, instillation of basking logs, creation of turtle nesting areas, installation of nesting boxes and bat houses, and planting of native plants.
