Larder Lake
Ontario, Canada
Easily accessible location beside the boat launch where the picnic table sits . This is close to the eastern most point of Larder Lake where the river flows into the lake from other lakes. This is also where the Kerr Adison mine operated for many decades as one of the largest gold mines in the world at the time of it's peak production. Back then mine tailings were routinely dumped directly into the lake here...fortunately the mine has been closed for a long time.

View all photosVery calm evening and the lake is still. Loon fishing on the water and some seagulls around the beach area.
Partly cloudy with fairly strong winds and some chop on the water. No rainfall in past 24 hours. Some loons on the lake and seagulls around too.
No rainfall in past 24 hours. Small school of minnows swimming along and some fishermen along the docks. They tell us the fish they tend to see here are perch, pike, trout, walleye, bass, catfish & suckers. 2 loons also fishing nearby in the lake not far from us. Enjoyed sharing the test results with these folks as they were keen to learn about this.
