Gordon's Creek

Confluence of Gordon's Creek and the Leaf River at Chain Park in Historic Downtown Hattiesburg. Gordon's Creek is the principal drainage for the City of Hattiesburg and it connects to the Leaf River at this location. This site is just 50-100 yards from an active train track, just downstream from the Leaf River public boat ramp at Hwy. 11 and just upstream of the East Hardy Bridge that serves as the principal connector of Downtown Hattiesburg to Petal. Construction is underway now for a new connector bridge between Downtown Hattiesburg and Petal, at which point the existing East Hardy Bridge will be transition to a pedestrian-only bridge for walking and biking.
