View all photosSunny calm day with no rain in past 24 hrs. Several dozen loons swimming and fishing in the water offshore. Mourning Doves heard nearby. Clouds of tiny lake bugs around this time of year. Summer dock not installed yet so measurement from shoreline won’t reflect true normal depth taken from end of dock rest of the year.
Overcast, windy and raining lightly with no rain in previous 24 hrs. Pair of loons seen fishing on the lake not too far off shore. Summer dock removed so didn’t do depth measurement this time as it would skew the average. ( Barely .1 M depth at the shores edge. )
Partly cloudy with some storm clouds gathering and fairly windy. Many sailboats out on the lake taking advantage of these winds. No rain in past 24 hrs.
Sunny day with calm water and no rain in past 24 hrs. No wildlife seen or heard here today at this time.
Sunny and bit windy. No rain in past 24 hrs. Summer dock installed so could test again from the end again so depth data will indicate this.
Sunny and very windy with choppy white caps on the lake. 27 Mm rainfall in past 24 hrs. No wildlife around today. Summer dock not in yet so depth taken from the shore. Lots of dried zebra mussel shells piled up along the edge.
Mostly sunny and mild winds. Some seagulls out on the lake. Dried up weeds and algae along the rocky shoreline.
Partly cloudy and fairly windy with no rain in past 24 hours. No wildlife around at this time that I could see or hear. Lots of boats had been launched here today from the # of trucks & trailers parked.
Partly cloudy today with no rain in past 24 hours. Pair of commercial fishermen coming into dock from setting their nets as I was testing so had a nice chat with them about the lake conditions and our water testing. Directed them to the site for more information. They mentioned when I asked what changes they’ve noticed on the lake over the past few years : more blue/green algae blooms, Asian carp and some other invasive fish species like Tench and Zander which they report to the Ministry of Fisheries when they find them in their nets. Good indicators of lake health though is their spring catch of yellow perch being very good and they’re a fish that prefers clean waters so this is a good sign.
Sunny with some wispy clouds and quite windy. A few MM rain in past 24 hours. Look fishing on the lake and some fishermen and boaters too from the look of the parking lot. No docks in place yet so measured from the shoreline instead… only .2 deep so won’t enter that data and mess up the averages. Lots of midges/lake bugs in clouds as I biked here.
