R-Card #3A blew topside down onto a puddle surrounded by goose droppings on the retaining wall after sampling. The card had been on the clipboard over a minute after sampling, but it was obviously contaminated in the puddle as the attached photo shows. Therefore, the data for Sample #3 was not entered.

Very hot and humid evening. Water was very calm. Geese were on the bank nearby, as is typical. Very few people in the park. Water was very smooth. About 50 geese were swimming in the water near the concrete wall prior to sampling. While sampling was being conducted, most of the geese came out of the water to the grassy bank near the concrete wall. There were a few people enjoying the park, mostly on the walking trail. Today was the first sampling of this site using the R-CARDs.

The day of testing there were very few people in the park or on the water. A few geese swimming nearby. Plastic trash near the retaining wall. Lots of heavy rain in previous days including earlier on day of sampling. Reservoir water was calm. During the incubation period, electric power was lost for a couple of hours, so incubation temperature was unstable. Therefore, it is possible these results are inaccurate.

There were several geese a few yards away on the concrete wall while sampling. There was a boat anchored out several yards from the shore with a family playing in the water. Whitish debris was floating on top of the water near the shore.

There were lots of geese on the concrete wall prior to testing. Someone was standing on the wall nearby fishing. There was a good bit of fecal matter in the grass near the wall, possibly from geese or dogs.

Water level at this location appeared higher than normal. Very gusty winds and very choppy waves. Several adult and juvenile geese were nearby. Given the choppiness of the waves it was difficult to get a sample, so the accuracy of this observation is uncertain.

The rain was about to start at the time of water sample collection. The water was choppy and the concrete barrier was wet. No geese were present and no evidence of geese was found around collection site. Walkers were on the path.
