Tributary entering SE End of East Lake
Cherry Valley, Ontario, Canada
Slow moving creek that feeds into the SE end of East Lake in Cherry Valley. It is an area of marshland but water here is deep enough for a public boat launch and dock where we do our testing. It is known at the Lions Memorial Park. Water feeding this small creek / river comes from a great distance across the southern end of Prince Edward County, enter East Lake which then flows out into Lake Ontario via the Outlet River at Sandbanks Provincial Park at the western end of East Lake.

No Rain in past 24 hours. Few birds seen flying overhead and some heard in the rushes. Good current on the stream.
No rainfall in past 24 hours. Overcast right now and quite windy. Water levels have receded enough now that the dock is no longer submerged and access to the boat launch and dock is back to normal. Lots of monarch and brown spotted butterflies, dragonflies, moths and small fish seen in the water. Some birds heard in the bullrushes, likely red-winged blackbirds. 2 kayakers coming ashore as I was finishing up. They live nearby and I talked about our testing and gave them a card to go onto the site for more info.
Sunny, muggy and calm day. Schools of minnows visible in the water. Dragonflies around and could hear many frogs, toads and crickets in the rushes. Few red winged blackbirds visible and other birds only heard. Dock is still mostly submerged from high water levels so my readings couldn't be taken at usual spot near end of dock so this depth reading would be somewhat less than where it is taken normally.
Overcast and calm winds....will soon be raining. Only .6 mm in past 24 hrs but over past 2 weeks nearly 120 Mm have fallen and lots of flooding shorelines and evident here too by half the dock being water covered. Robins, blackbirds and blackflies out tonight.
No rainfall in past 24 hrs. 2 white swans flying overhead as we arrived heading out into East Lake. Many red-winged blackbirds active and singing. Currently overcast with medium strong winds. River is clear of ice and some of East Lake but ice further out on the lake still visible.

No rainfall in past 24 hours. Sunny with mild breeze. No current on creek. Many monarchs and other butterflies, dragonflies, small fish, and a few red winged blackbirds here. Weeds and Lilly pads as usual in this boat launch area. Some boaters just heading out for a ride on East Lake so we chatted for a while about Water Rangers and some environmental issues they were concerned about.
