Iron oxide bacteria still seeping from the ground in large amounts on right bank. There is no sign of any fish anywhere. We waited and went into the pools where they were discovered before. The walk down to the culvert is dangerous and the path is overgrown with vegetation. Be careful of unstable and unlevel ground.
No sign of fish.
The walk down is dangerous. It is slippery in the morning with the dew and the path can not be seen with long vegetation.
Be careful of the overgrown vegetation, and have to climb down to reach the water.
Lots of vegetation on the boulders and have to be very careful to climb down to reach the location. Iron Oxide Bacteria increasing near the culvert. The water level is low and still fish are there.
Dangerous to climb down toward the actual site. Some kind of deposit was found on the site. Some unfamiliar kind of water chemistry were seen. Aquatic life observed.
Fish were present, and saw three individuals. The vegetation is overgrown- wear pants or boots- stinging nettle will get you. Watch footing, holes and rocks hidden in the long grass. The odour of decomposition probably from debris and culvert.
This visit was a special visit to determine if fish were present and trapped. 4 separate fish were seen. One was caught and resembles a salmon - possibly chinook or coho. The culvert does not allow for passage further up stream. The fish was approx. 7.8cm in length. To note the water was turned up a reasonable amount before sampling. If conductivity is higher than previously, the iron turn-up could account for this.
Take the path down to the site. Wear a vizy vest so visible to neighbours. the path is steep and watch for slippery rocks and grasses. There is an abundance of iron seeping from the ground, the ground is saturated so can easily sink. Wear long boots and pants.
Lots of vegetation on the way and a steep slope to go to the site.
Aquatic life - tiny fish (approximately 1.5 inches in size). The oily film around the bank.
High vegetation, be careful.
Very steep, Spikes plants (thorn), wetted land because of rainfall. After getting back to the main road, there was metal scrap and something other in between the route. Mosquitos and unknow bugs and snails. There was a big wooden piece coated with green algae near the water.
