About

The Skeena Knowledge Trust (SKT) is a purpose trust and registered Canadian charitable organisation based in Smithers, BC. The purpose of the SKT is to provide public education on salmon and salmon habitat in the Skeena River watershed with the overarching goal of promoting sound decision making by ensuring that land-use decisions relevant to salmon ecosystems are made using the best possible information.

We have engaged with Water Rangers in order to support community water monitoring efforts in the Skeena River watershed. We have a number of Water Rangers kits available for loan to partner organisations and individuals keen to learn more about their local watersheds and share their findings with their communities.

Our staff have a variety of formal and on-the-job training in water sampling and analysis, and information management.
