About
I collect samples in the Pearl River on the MS/LA border in Pearlington, MS. I am passionate about freshwater because it eventually enters marine systems, and my research is broadly concerned with the source/fate of environmental toxins in coastal environments.
Training
I have held three lab positions: two at the University of Southern Mississippi and one at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. At USM, I currently am a lab tech in the Center for Trace Analysis at Stennis Space Center. Here, I help with ongoing projects such as the international GEOTRACES database as well as conducting my own project in Lake Pontchartrain. At UMCES, I worked in an environmental contaminants lab and studied how UV-absorbing compounds in sunscreen react with sunlight.
