About

I grew up boating on Mobile's Dog River back in the 1950s. When I started teaching at the University of South Alabama in 1995, I started a senior level geography class that focused on the Dog River Watershed. Over the past 20 years, I have learned a lot about our urban river. I was president of Dog River Clearwater Revival (DRCR) for 6 years, and I have been an Alabama Water Watch Trainer for 15 years. Currently, as a member of DRCR's advisory board, I am revamping that group's water monitoring program. I also monitor one site on Halls Mill Creek.
