Notes

Extremly hot day and has been for last two weeks. Lots of walkers, cyclists, Narrow Boats going through Stoke Lock, and a fast kaykacking race down the river was going on. Two Swans swam by, by the pontoon. The pontoon bank had broken away a bit by the waters edge, so care needed when moving onto the pontoon to get sample. Conservation Cattle were all sat shaded under the wooded area of the wetlands meadow. We saw lots of Damsleflys and there were many Crows and Jackdaws making a large sound by Slyfield devlopment and the Riverside Nature Reserve and Red kites circling overhead.

Notes

Further Down Stream we watched Narrow Boats go through Stoke Lock and the Guildford Kayak Club was running a 12 mile race down the River. They get out at the river by Stoke lock and carry their Kayaks while running over the foot bridge and then get back into the water at the wey navigation going down stream at Slyfield. Our normal testing site at Slyfield Down stream, was completly overgrown with Nettles and Brambles and not accessable to collect water specimen. So we went further down stream to a place accessable and noted on our note book and whatsapp chat the new location with ' What 3 Words' coordinates, which was : //w3w.co/month.gather.couch Image above so you can easily find again.
