Today was filled with conversation from streamside passersby! Pleasure to inform visitors of all ages to the natural world we get to observe and enjoy. .... lucky my 2 hr. schedule isn't 'timed' >> ends up being 3hrs!!
stickleback prevail in this slow moving section!
muddy shore shows raccoon footprints = crayfish feed or washing! > school of stickleback indicate slow water flow caused by stick-jam created by aging willow & perhaps helped by beaver! ++ this site was once a 'riffle zone' with higher dissolved oxygen etc.
