Grand Marais Ditch

This creek is natural but the city uses this part more as flood control and not here but in some part has pavement right to the water edge. This part has natural vegetation. It becomes Turkey Creek and empties into the Detroit River. The water is shallow and moves.

Water level is very low.
Water at its usual depth. I saw at least 6 carp that come to spawn - about a foot to 18 inches in length. There was a bit of green algae on the bordering land on each side of stream
Water level was high and flowing fast.
There was no algae. Black walnut pods had fallen and were around.
I could see some fish. The water was a bit deeper than before, so could not definitely tell if they were carp, but I assume so, There was more algae than during my previous observations. There had been some on the south side of the creek, but now it was on both.
Water was a bit higher than last time. Algae is growing on the exposed creek bed on the south side. A blue heron was standing in the water.
The water had receded about 2 foot from shore. Was very shallow, maybe 2 feet in the middle. I observed a blue heron standing in the water.
There were around a dozen large carp, some more than a foot long. They were spawning
