We observed several crayfish, water snails, and minnows in the river today. We noticed a lot of water plants that were not there 2 weeks ago - including lily pads. There were red-winged blackbirds flying and signing overhead as well as a hawk circling above us upstream. There were several mosquitoes, and we saw dragonflies over the water too. Like previous visits the ground was covered with ground ivy and a lot of garlic mustard was present...we even noticed forget-me-not flowers, although I'm not sure how they got over here.
There were a lot of canoes and kayaks on the water today as well.
