No turtles today (EDIT, returned to test site once testing was completed & Painted Turtles were noted - picture attached). High bird activity. Resident heron in other pond per usual. Not much algae smell.
3 turtles on rock, same location as last observation. Will bring telephoto camera next time to get positive id. Thermometer registering abnormally high despite long rest period in shade (55°), used Google Weather for air temp. Many small pond skaters, lily pads, heron in reservoir on other side of path.
Location has been structurally modified with additional rocks and crushed gravel.
Very cloudy water, likely due to heavy rain July 10th.
Lily pads, turtles (id TBD - possibly map turtle), cattails, mink, various species of dragonfly, mosquitoes. Close to popular kayaking/canoeing put-in on Grand River.
Weather: sunny, no wind.
