NOTE: observations 50 m upstream of where usual sampling occurs. Hot and humid, feels like 32C in the shade; last 24h sunny and humid. No sheen, smell; minimal algae attached on rocks, lots of mosses. Water low, slow moving, tea colored (normal here - forest riparian). Black coleoptera observed on rock at O2 sampling location. Lots of mosquitoes. Large Green Frog (Lithobates clamitans) near site.
Suspect someone on the property upstream of us broke a large beaver dam, or some other event occurred, as we had a sudden increase in water flow for a few hours in which water rushed down our creek and filled the ditches to road hight on Walker road the evening prior to the sampling.
