This is an open stretch of river, just downstream of the inter-provincial bridge and south of the town of Waltham, QC. This is the convergence of two channels, one that flows north of Alumette Island, and one that flows from the south. There is a moderate current.

Observations made to see whether there was a difference between the resurgence at the Gervais caves and the main river. There was no difference. There was a bald eagle flying around!
