Partly cloudy with moderate winds, and calm water. Less than 1 Mm rain in past 24 hours. Family from Trenton heading out canoeing and kayaking while I was there testing so we chatted about Water Rangers, Watersheds Canada and Natural Edge since they have friends on Weller’s Bay so I suggested they let them know about the Pugnose Shiner project this summer and the shoreline restoration program too.
Overcast with moderate winds. 9 MM rainfall in past 24 hours. Some crows flying around and squawking. Shoreline has receded a lot from usual spot so the depth results will be skewed a bit due to being able to reach the deeper area now with the secchi disc.
Overcast and hazy sky and calm, with no rainfall over past 24 hours. Water is totally still. Only a few crows seen and heard, otherwise so quiet. Garbage strewn into the woods nearby which I couldn’t take away as too much of it and no way to bring home on my bike. Always saddens me to see evidence everywhere we go of humans recklessness and lack of care for our environment....why are they out here enjoying the beauty of nature only to leave their trash behind as thanks?
Sky is full of dark and threatening looking clouds with sun trying to poke through. Fairly windy. Have had over 30 MM rain in past 24 hours and around 80+ Mm rain over past week...where was this all summer when we needed it most? Lady kayaking past as I tested. No wildlife visible...some birds heard in the distance.
Partly cloudy and windy with storm clouds gathering. Rainfall in past 24 hours has been very spotty with some parts of the County getting good amounts and others nearby getting none or very little. Overall we’re now in a Stage 2 ( of 3 ) Low Water level warning from Quinte Conservation. Few minnows seen in the water and some weeds.
17 MM rainfall overnight...sorely needed! Sunny and hot today. Dragonflies busy and schools of minnows swimming around in the water here.
Sunny and calm day with some fog over the lake . No rain in past 24 hours. Lots of songbirds around and some small minnows seen swimming in the water.
No rain over past 24 hours, but 43 MM over previous 48 hours. Overcast now and mild winds. Fisherman in a kayak catching Pike.
Small amt of rain over past 24 hours. Some birds heard singing nearby. River is clear but has a real greenish tinge to it.
