Outlet River at Bridge on County Rd 18

Just past Outlet Rd /Log Cabin Point Rd near Sandbanks Provincial Park down below the bridge that crosses over the river on County Rd 18 from East Lake into Lake Ontario. Slow moving and calm water.

Sunny with some clouds forming and quite calm winds. No rain in past 24 hours. Lily pads and many small minnows seen in the water where we test.

Sunny, humid and calm day with some hazy clouds forming. No rain in past 24 hours. Some lily pads near the shore providing nice shade for the small minnows swimming around them. Some songbirds can be heard and monarch butterflies and water bugs seen.

Beautiful night, calm and partly cloudy with sunny breaks after a day of rain in the area….around 18 MM. Some songbirds heard in the trees, kids fishing along the shore, some other folks out on paddle boards. Some purple loosestrife growing along the shore near the bridge.

Overcast sky and calm with about 3 MM rainfall overnight. Some robins around, and lots of canoeists, kayakers and paddle boarders out on the river. Cottages are active now too. Large fish jumped when I was testing but didn’t see what kind. Some heavy weeds under the surface and lots of lily pads in some areas. Horseflies had a feast on me while I was testing.

Overcast now and calm after raining lightly most of the day…about 5 MM in past 24 hrs after 3 weeks of drought conditions. No wildlife around to be seen or heard .

Partly cloudy with moderate winds, and calm water. Less than 1 Mm rain in past 24 hours. Family from Trenton heading out canoeing and kayaking while I was there testing so we chatted about Water Rangers, Watersheds Canada and Natural Edge since they have friends on Weller’s Bay so I suggested they let them know about the Pugnose Shiner project this summer and the shoreline restoration program too.

Overcast with moderate winds. 9 MM rainfall in past 24 hours. Some crows flying around and squawking. Shoreline has receded a lot from usual spot so the depth results will be skewed a bit due to being able to reach the deeper area now with the secchi disc.
