View all photosThe Knotweed is coming back with a vengeance!
Visibly deeper water today. The local area has been experiencing low water levels, and some private wells have started to run dry. Hopefully this will mean that the water level will be returning to normal levels before the onset of winter and colder temperatures.
Water lilies are beginning to flower. Many strange gulls around at the moment, they were blown here by the hurricane off their usual migratory routes.
Noticeably less insect activity than normally observed.
Weather was very sunny and warm with mainly blue skies for the last 2 days.
Lots of water beetles on the surface of the pond. Saw a family of ducks with 6 ducklings swimming across the lake.
The water was very still and almost like a mirror.
Weather was warm but overcast at the time of taking samples.
Previous 24 hours has been warm with mainly clear skies, gusty winds.
No rain for 6 days.
Noticed a patch of Japanese Knotweed close to the sampling point.
