Welland Canal

This site is located on "The Island" in the Welland canals (old and new).
In 2002-03, MRC transformed a former industrial site into the Derek Point & Memorial Garden, creating a picturesque park that has become a prime location for viewing ships on the Great Lakes.

Every year, MRC staff take part in maintaining the park by organizing clean-up events and planting new flowers and trees. The park is equipped with benches and picnic tables for visitors to enjoy and also provides access to the Niagara Riding Trails.

The signage and structures within Derek Point are crafted from recycled materials supplied by MRC, reflecting the company's commitment to sustainability.
