Enter Kickapoo Woods off State Highway 1 (S. Halsted St.) in Harvey, Illinois. Follow the drive west about 500 yards and look for the sign for the Boat Launch on the south side of the drive. Park along the drive and walk the path south following the signs through the forest preserve to the Boat Launch.

Bright day overall. As the day progressed the southerly breeze turned more to the southwest and gained strength. Friday was somewhat colder and more overcast, though peeks of sun during the day. No precipitation for either day with 55 percent humidity.
Cloudy morning, changing to partly cloudy in the early afternoon. Variable winds from the southwest about 12 mph. Friday was a sunnier day, with winds about 10 mph. No precipitation for either day but it has been drizzly for a few days prior.
FOR THIS OBSERVATION, I DID A SECOND CHLORIDE TEST AND BOTH STRIPS WERE IDENTICAL, READING 172 PPM.
Additional Notes: The river's water line is low, several yards below the stepping stones laid for the canoe launch. Prints of deer and raccoon are evident in the muddy shoreline. Possibly prints of coyote or neighbors' dogs as well.
