Motorized watercraft, fishing boats travel too fast along the Bonnechere River from the Horton Boat Launch out to the Ottawa River. Choppy waters turn to calm by sunset.
Many motorized watercraft put in at the Horton Boat Launch, travelling down Bonnechere River into the Ottawa River. Boats travelling fast, leaving wake, damaging shoreline.
Jumping fish, feeding. Blackflies
Surface bubbles, weed patches in shallow water. Surface pollen. Strong current when doing Secchi depth test. Sea gulls flying downstream on Ottawa River. Fish feeding on the surface insects. Blackflies galore.
Significant shoreline damage along the Bonnechere River at McCreary's Point.
Water has a clean surface, absent from pollen (as in other areas on the River).
A mature osprey flew into the trees nearby, along the Bonnechere River.
Observed a pair of Loons on the Ottawa River, a flock of ducks swimming, and Canada geese flying overhead. It is windy and cloudy. Overcast from recent rainfall.
