View all photosSuper high water level has swallowed the sandy beach that was here just a month ago! Ducks and geese don’t seem to mind.
Ducks. Two giant geese. Amos Waites Park and Mimico Waterfront community clean up earlier that morning. Good turnout. Together we cleaned up this very beach. It was littered with the tiniest of tiny plastic pieces. Oddest thing I found in the area: the bottom of a wooden shoe. Very cold day. Two toques needed for sure.
The Mimico Residents' Association (MRA) held a Toronto 'Tree for Me' event at Amos Waites Park (Mimico Square). Residents came by the square to pick up free trees and learn how to plant them in their yards. We also had a chance to go to Mimico beach just south of the playground near the boardwalk to take some water quality tests. A curious pigeon walked by to check out what we were doing. Thank you to Nathaniel Moore for being such a great water tester!
Local beach. A line of gulls.
Many ducks, geese, cormorants. One swan. It rained most of the day yesterday. Sunny this morning.
