Two+ weeks of very hot (30-38°C) and dry weather. Wildfires in the area started two weeks ago after a lightning storm. This past week has been particularly smoky. No rain for a few weeks.
Haven't seen as many ducks around lately.
Creek has dropped quite a bit over two weeks. Water temperature is 4°C higher as well. Spring rains have been quite minimal to date - notably less than average. Very hot temperatures this week, starting today following seasonal temperatures for past two weeks.
- About one week after high waters receded. Water is much less turbid than when it was flowing high (there were fears of flooding toward the end of May/early June).
- Heard a man warn two ladies walking their dogs to "be careful" with the dogs because he had just put down fertilizer adjacent to the creek
- Ducks seemed to not enjoy my presence. I wonder if there was a close by nest?
- Smelt dog poop close by
