Humid and hot sunny day. Tests shared with other children at the river’s edge who were eager to participate. Some water safety challenges ensued. Tests had to be abandoned before proper timed measurement.
Hot and humid. Observed crayfish, another type of fish, and birds. Kids noted an eagle was observing testing today! Sewage smell still aggressive.
Strong scent of sewage; emailed Kat and River Keeper
Sunny, hot, no rain in the last 24hrs. Birds noted, fish observed (perhaps gar pike, but we need to do some research to confirm), deer flies were plentiful, seagull happily observed water tests.
Birds were busy, no insects observed, light breeze. Cloudy.
Thunderstorm, windy overnight; cool today, cloudy with sunny periods. Birds are vocal, can hear small waterfall but unable to visualize location.
Sunny, lots of rain yesterday; water is very, very low, sluice gates closed; crayfish, mosquitos; yarrow and luscious, plump red clover right at the water's edge; ginseng heavy with fruit now.
Sunny, hot, humid; high water level; rapids evident (unusual for the site). Secchi unobtainable due to unsafe conditions, cannot see the bottom. Ph, alkalinity, and hardness invalid tests
Warm and sunny the last 24 hours. We found a large patch of lily of the valley and a patch of Virginia creeper. Plenty of mosquitoes!
