Beautiful river, no biofilm on rocks, water is crystal clear. Sampling site location: Saugeen River Trail, beside The Old Garage Wood Fired Pizza restaurant. This river commences in the Flesherton area, flowing North West 160 km before entering Lake Huron. Surrounding land use is mainly agricultural, the river splits in two for the majority of its length. The North Saugeen River is home to one of the most critically endangered species of insects, a member of the Halipidae family, the Hungerford's Crawling Water Beetle. The current population estimates 1000 individuals present in the wild.

Mostly cloudy, heavy rainfall today. Buds starting to show on trees &a sting flowers blooming. Water iris and large patch of tiger lilies on the side of the Saugeen Trail. Weeping willow, purple pansy, red clover pennywart and violas spotted.

Mostly cloudy but warm. Beautiful day yesterday, not much rain this week. Farmers fields seem to be draining well. Flooding has decreased significantly in the passed few days.
