Everything looks normal
Water seems to be smoothing out the bottom of the stream. Before when Beaver Dam was up, there was a noticeable drop in depth. It seems smoothed out now.
The site is similar to before. No signs of beaver since the removal of the dam.
No signs pf Beaver movement. The water is flowing lower and faster than before it was dammed. Watchout for dip holes, tractor trailer made divots-slippery on rip rap.
Beaver dam removed. Water flowing freely. Doesn't appear like there has been a change to height or width.
Beaver dam is gone, and lodges are destroyed. The ground is very slippery.
Branches and twigs in the middle of the river - sign of presence of a Beaver
The Beaver expanded his dam and lodge with clean sticks. Fish guts present.
Watch out Beaver is hanging out right in the sampling area, and at the front of the parking spot. The sample site is not exactly the same, was across the creek. A very busy Beaver has stake his claim.
Watch footing lots of woody debris and uneven ground from where a tractor of sorts, ripped up the ground (big holes) and levelled the shrubs (riparian and beyond, willow daggers pointed up). The mud is slippery, there is a small running ditch that joins the creek now, and it has to be crossed (rubber boots recommended). There is a beaver presence at the back of the creek where it turns in.
Watch out for beaver and falling trees. A beaver fell a tree while we were at the site. Rodent holes - Watch footing
