River is very high. The flow is 4100 m3/sec or 144,000 cfs. Flow information for this section of the Ottawa river is available from shaggy designs online flow report.

Lots of debris from the flood is floating downstream and pooling in the calm eddies. A lot of garbage, including an oil tank.

Heavy erosion happening among the access road. Rainy all week, still snow on the ground. Lots of flooding and runoff occurring here. Spotted a beaver, busy making a new home. The samples are from above the culverts before heading into the Ottawa River and just below. The darker sample is above the culverts. This sample is very turbid as you can see. We will continue to sample at these sites over the course of the summer.

Warm and sunny afternoon with slight breeze. The river is beginning to rise.

There is no ice in this stretch of the Ottawa River. There is evidence of paddling activity. Soon this area will become very busy with the onset of the commercial rafting activities.
