Mallards,a few geese, gulls. A man fishing across the river, children feeding the birds. Lots of water coming in from the canal. Last week I think I saw red-breasted mergansers here but didn’t have binoculars so I wasn’t sure.
Mallards, geese, a few goldeneyes by the dock but none downstream. Plants are breaking dormancy.
A little ice left at the confluence. Mallards near the dock but fewer than yesterday and no geese today. A few goldeneyes a short distance south.
Some ice where the canal joins the river. Lots of geese, gulls, mallards and more goldeneyes than usual, all in the water , not on the dock
Mallards, one goldeneye
The usual mallards and Canada geese, one goldeneye
Mallards here, goldeneyes less than 1/4 mile downstream in Ronan Park. I noticed what could be road salt on paths beside the river in both parks, including offshoots to the river’s edge.
Lots of mallards (and poop) on dock and in water
One goldeneye and many mallards
