Sangamon River at Reas Bridge

Sangamon River

Decatur, Illinois, United States

Located just south of Reas Bridge in Decatur, IL. This river feeds into Lake Decatur just to the south. Water is mostly calm and shallow here. No dangers observed, but shoreline is lined with medium-sized rocks. Gravel parking lot that is right along the water.

Reas Bridge still under construction. Nearby fishing area used to collect sample, found about 400ft south of original sampling point. Water quality taken from nearby water monitoring station using EXO2.

Ice was melting and breaking along the shore. Ice wasn't consistent across area due to the warming temperatures. Total coliform testing done = none detected.
