St. Lawrence River
Ontario, Canada
Manmade reef built to provide habitat and to mitigate the effects of erosion. the large stones form two large arches from the shore blocking most waves and creating a relatively calm area near the shore. There are a lot of branches and other woody debris inside the reef (tripping hazard) and the sediment here is soft and sandy while outside the reef is very rocky.
A popular site for geese and cormorants to hang out.
