Notes

Details have been entered above.

Details:

Have you seen this before?

Not since pelicans have been able to hatch their eggs, after DDT was banned and they began nesting on Gailliard Island.

Have you notified any other agencies?

No, but I sent Mobile Baykeeper an email the day after I noticed this unusual situation and left voicemail, today, 7-17-2020, asking whether your organization was aware of the lack of pelicans and sea gulls on the shoe of Mobile Bay, around the mouth of Weeks Bay,

Weather

Current weather What's this?
  • sunny
Explained above, in detail. Over the 4 hours (12:20pm - 4:20pm) I was there, it was sunny and partly cloudy, with a North wind about 10mph, shifting to Southwest about 5mph. Gentle waves washed ashore, must have been between high tides, because Sandy beach was visible.
Weather in previous 24 hours What's this?
  • cloudy
  • rainy
Because I was in Mobile on Thursday, I don't know what the weather was at this location, but rain was widespread around both sides of Mobile Bay on that day.
