Cobourg and Neighbours Source Water Protection Group

About

We are an enthusiastic group of volunteers who want to support The Town of Cobourg's work with the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority and their Source Protection Plan. We hope to move from public awareness to action so that we can proactively mitigate the impact of extreme weather events on the lakes, rivers and creeks that feed into Lake Ontario, the source of our drinking water.

Water testing protocol

We use events like the annual GIS Day (mid November) and Open Data Day (early March) to offer training on how to collect , measure and report standardized water samples using the DataStream platform and Water Rangers Education Kit.
