The association was formed in 1987 with a focus on the ecological wellbeing of Wellers Bay, Lake Ontario. The volunteer board of community members work at the pleasure of the membership. We believe that good governance and an engaged membership will inspire sound stewardship of Wellers Bay.
Water testing protocol
Following the Water Rangers guidelines for testing, FOWB has 2 test kits.
We primarily test at the end of Squires St in the village of Consecon.
We also look for educational opportunities to share information about water quality with our membership and community.
There are also Lake Partner Program water testing samples taken at the deepest spot of the Bay, which has been done consistently over years. We are looking to add E Coli testing through another test group, too.
