Notes

I observed this little painted turtle on a patch of sand in front of my house on Sharbot Lake. It was walking around the sand, sun bathed for 20 minutes and then went into the water for a swim. It then returned to the sand, and went back into a hole. I had never seen this before! But some reading indicates that turtles can have "winter" nests.
The beer can was floating in the lake so I used it for reference (size of turtle) and then recycled the can.
