Very little waterfowl seen on pond: Bufflehead. A river otter seen in west lagoon.
Testing done during atmospheric river event with extremely high water level in pond.
Two river otters seen in West Lagoon along with variety of waterfowl, including about 16 American coots paddling in among shrubs now in standing water due to high water levels.
Considerable number of waterfowl observed in west lagoon (i.e., American Wigeons, Coots, and Canada geese).
Small flocks of waterfowl, including Canada Geese and ducks, observed in centre area of west pond.
Recent rainy conditions may have improved water quality somewhat.
Water quality test done two days after a day of heavy rains. Note: decision made t change the sampling site in the western lagoon. Samples both today and going forward will be taken on the observation deck at the west end of the western lagoon at Blakeburn.
