This time of year with spring run off the water is high and flowing fairly fast under the bridge. Test taken on east side of bridge along southern edge. Very marshy area all along this creek, which gets low in summer but spring & fall is always high.

Slightly overcast and moderately windy. No rainfall in past 24 hours but it was raining BLACKFLIES heavily while I was there. Did tests as quickly as I could then took sample back home in bike bag to do the rest of them. Seems they've hatched now that things are warming up after all the rainfall. Some songbirds, robins in the area too.......bring on the swallows and purple martins to eat some of these bugs now ( I ate a few myself while riding ! )
