Some rain in past 24 hours. Lots of boaters and people fishing off the docs. I spoke to a lady from the fisheries ministry and told her about water rangers and gave her a card . She was going to mention this to the folks in the scientific division when she was back at work.

Calm overcast day with no rain past 24 hours. Few ripples on the water. Single duck flying overhead and a few on the river further downstream. 2 fishermen getting ready to launch their boats for first time out on the river this year. Talked with them about Water Rangers.ca and directed them to the site for info on places where they plan to fish. They know this river well and find about a dozen species that they catch or see over the course of the year. Cleaned up a lot of litter that was left around the area of the dock and parking lot...usual coffee cups, plastic bottles, cig packs, etc. Will dispose of them when we join in the Osgoode Cleanup crew tomorrow. We recorded ice off since this is the first time here this spring but it has surely been off the river for a month of so .
