Sampled since 1998 as part of Illinois RiverWatch. Biology Professor at Joliet Junior College since 1991; retired May 2020 but continue to teach as an adjunct. Also taught 3 years at Allegheny College, Meadville, PA; 2 years at Southwest State University, Marshall, MN; and 1 year at University of Minnesota--Duluth.
Grew up on a farm in northern Illinois; worked in a variety of factories and installed inground swimming pools. Married for 34 years; wife is a RN, 3 adult kids, all with graduate degrees in Biology.


MS degree in Zoology (Animal Behavior/Wildlife Management); trained in stream ecology as a citizen scientist for the Illinois RiverWatch program. Sampled since 1998. Also teach an undergraduate research course in stream ecology at Joliet Junior College since 2014. 8 students have presented at National Conference for Undergraduate Research conferences; 5 have published papers in NCUR Proceedings. Two more students will be presenting at NCUR in April 2022.
